Facilities By Design had the opportunity to work with American Pacific Mortgage on their new location in Lafayette, California. This 1030 square-foot office was in need of an update. FBD worked to develop a color palette to unify and brighten up the small space. FBD was able to source previously owned private and shared office furniture allowing for bigger budget items like the front reception and café-meeting area to introduce and highlight the space. The reception desk is backed by a reverse-cut frosted glass logo that adds identity to the APM name as well as privacy for the office behind. The café-meeting area is wrapped in warm wood tones that serve as an inviting place to meet with clients or have employee breaks. Pendant lighting adds ambiance and helps to designate the space. Finally, FBD helped to design and source hallway signage to direct and invite clients.

Paula's Project Thoughts...

This project was a bit of a challenge. The suite was in a nondescript building in a high-end retail area of Lafayette. We wanted to bring sophistication to the space that was very dated when we started and do it on a budget. We achieved this by bringing in high end fabrics and finishes to transform the look. We saved money by locating used Steelcase office furniture and mixed those with new collaborative items.
